The Lovers
union · choice · accord · what you value
Two paths, and she chose the one with company.
The Lovers, upright, on the day the Sun meets Venus. Two figures stand beneath an angel, a tree of fruit behind one, a tree of flame behind the other. People read it as a romance card. It is first a card of choice: standing with someone or something because of what you actually value, not because it was the next thing on the shelf. With Venus retrograde all month, the question has been circling. What do you want, really? Today the Sun shines straight on the answer. You may already know it. It may be a person. It may be a city, a kind of work, a quiet Sunday you keep giving away. Nothing here asks you to announce it or to act by evening. It asks you to choose it privately, the way you choose a seat on a long bus ride and then stop looking at the others. Write one sentence that starts with the words I choose, and finish it honestly. Keep it in a pocket. The Sun is also squaring Pluto, and someone may push for a choice of their own. Theirs can wait. The frog chose her lily pad years ago. Other leaves float by. She admires them and stays.
